department some of the nonprofit partner you'll hear about but the city gardeners to recognize the work that's being done in the fields but also in the offices to make that one of the best parks systems in the whole country thank you for being here today (clapping) my name is inconvenience i'm with laborers 411 used to be the local representative i got a shout out from aaron anderson and others (clapping) teresa (clapping) and tom harrison for sitting with us h and organizing this event (clapping) so it's really kind of cool to be able to do this you have a

chance to look at the slide shows i see the past retirees terry thank you for being here and steve elderly it is an opportunity to bring people tobacco because those are the people they know you know where the bodies are buried; right? terry claufr but from didn't great to be a city gardeners with the recreation and parks department but i've come like those car d'ettorre to appreciate the great work you guys don't every single day (clapping.) it is a short program today i promise i have to shout out commissioner josh thank you for joining us (clapping.) college board trustees alex randolph thank you

(clapping) san francisco supervisor tang who always seemed to recognize us (clapping) so it's really cool about this event it is recognized citywide and unusual that elected officials will take the time to engage really what is a worker event it's unusual we have elected officials in this town that put other cities our size and large to shame what we have today two of the most expressive elected leaders an opportunity to introduce them i do want to start with our assessor-recorder carmen chu. (clapping.) >> carmen chu was appointed by mayor gavin newsom in 2007 to the san francisco board of

supervisors to represent the sunset district write was raised a lot of you are from it was not easy carmen chu was not small business that was looking at for a political career go sometimes this year, the best representatives representing you she was drafted; right? you guys remember ed schu i fondly remember a couple 6 stores by the carmen it was our gardeners along point firefighters and the teachers and the bus drivers that stooped for carmen we knew she was something that would get the job done she was on the wrong side of some voted like in china - (laughter) ca man approached the job is professionalism dignity and

grace i'm honored shy said take the time out of her day we're going to continue to support her, she brought in hundred and $91 million as her job as a assessor which - (clapping) which goes to environmental city services including the services we provide but also on the right side of idealogical issues carmen chu it is a pleasure to have you carmen chu if i would (clapping.) i will simply say it's my honor to be here the labors is one of my first very, very first partners i've not forgotten if i told you what one was my favorite labor union my husband

a proud member of 1198 there would be some kind of i have to say in anyone job one of the things to evaluate the property in san francisco when you think about how people care about their neighborhoods they value truly it is about the parks around them so i want to say and special thank you to the rapid transits but you help to may our parks safe and clean without it we wouldn't be at the place in terms of the real estate market you guys have to give yourselves a big round of applause congratulations (clapping.) >> carman it the only citywide elected female we have 0 she's at the top of the food change you remember john valentino he was a city gardener she peace to
